Professor Tobin joined the Bridgewater faculty in 2010 and teaches accounting, finance and taxation courses in both the undergraduate and graduate business programs. She brings significant professional experience to the classroom as she spent twenty years working as a results-oriented finance executive driving revenue growth and profitability with specific expertise in developing and implementing business plans in start-up, turn-around and sale/merger situations. Professor Tobin's professional career spans the accounting, finance, taxation and nonprofit fields while working in numerous different business environments and with varying levels of responsibility - from CPA to Controller to Managing Director to Chief Financial Officer to Consultant. She was Chief Financial Officer at the Boston Stock Exchange where she developed the valuation model and business plan to support the sale and operational transition of the Exchange to a global acquirer and the Interim Chief Financial Officer at four different start-up organizations where she designed and implemented the financial, administrative and tax infrastructures to support newly capitalized business plans. Professor Tobin remains engaged as an independent CFO consultant working on both volunteer and professional projects in the areas of accounting, finance, taxation and nonprofit administration. She serves on various boards and audit committees in the nonprofit sector.

Professor Tobin is a Certified Public Accountant and holds dual Masters degrees in Finance from Boston College and Taxation from Suffolk University. She is an avid sports enthusiast who played basketball at Stonehill College and coached basketball at Boston College.
