Drawing from embodied experience, neurocognitive sciences and her training as a Somatic Movement Therapist, a Laban Movement Analyst, and as a dance performer in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, improvisation, and creative dance, Dr. Dragon specializes in developing pedagogy, curriculum, courses and workshops that utilize the body as a modes for creating meaning and knowledge that can reflect, meditate, challenge and change individual and group motivations and values. She develops and implements dance, somatic, and embodied education paradigms for infants to elderly people and for beginners and professionals alike in public, private, urban and rural environments and schools, corporate settings, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, psychiatric facilities, and in K-12 and higher education. Dr. Dragon applies life-long experiences as a dance educator, performer, choreographer, researcher, and business entrepreneur to developing student-centered, experiential, curriculum and processes that prepare future dance educators for the professional work and support professionals currently working in dance and education and related fields.
