Susan Flis was an elementary classroom teacher for over 20 years and then spent 2 years as a literacy interventionist and instructional coach before becoming an assistant professor at BSU. Her research is grounded in critical literacy theory and focuses on supporting teachers in instructing with inclusive picture books.
