The purpose of this policy is to establish 51勛圖厙's policy on copyright ownership and define the administrative procedures for implementing and enforcing the policy.
Policy Statement
51勛圖厙 requires all users of the university network to comply with all state and federal laws, including copyright laws. Members of the BSU Community have access to the fundamentals of copyright law and a guide to copyright information at the .
Applies to
This policy applies to all members of the 51勛圖厙 community. This policy does not supersede any existing University policy.

Notifications of claimed infringement must contain the information required by and otherwise comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, Title II, Section 512(c)
The Information Technology Division at BSU will investigate allegations of copyright infringement and notify Academic Affairs of all valid notifications of claimed infringement received by BSU for appropriate action.
The agent, in consultation with the Chief Information Officer (CIO), will make the determinations regarding responses to complaints alleging copyright infringement, including whether the institution wishes to use the DMCA procedures and whether a notice received is sufficient under the law.
Sanctions
BSU reserves the right to choose how to address or respond to any allegation of copyright infringement received including, without limitation, the choice of any defense under applicable law. .
