Karen Aicher received her PhD in cognitive psychology from the University of Connecticut. Prior to pursuit of her degree, Dr. Aicher was a clinical speech pathologist for many years. She worked with patients in hospital and rehabilitation settings, students in public schools, and adults in group homes and sheltered work settings. Dr. Aicher’s research has focused on the influence of prior knowledge on language behavior, with a particular focus on
new learning in adults.
