Daniel McHugh
Director of University Events
The Director of University Events provides leadership, oversight and direction for all aspects of the University Events function including reservations, external/summer rentals, operations, event technology, event management, institutional events as well as production, audio and lighting services. The Director is responsible for ensuring that the University Events staff provides program support and services consistent with established customer service standards while serving the 51Թ community, southeastern Massachusetts and external clients.
Robert Brock
Associate Director
The Associate Director provides leadership and direction for the service provider areas of the University Events Office including event operations, event technology and production, audio and lighting services (PALS). He is also responsible for oversight of training, assessment and internal marketing. The Associate Director serves as the secondary administrator for the department and serves as a member of the department’s leadership team, assisting the Director with strategic planning, budget development and departmental vision.
Lindsey McQuade
Assistant Director, Scheduling and Customer Relations
The Assistant Director, Scheduling and Customer Relations is responsible for the external sales and marketing efforts of the department to enhance revenue streams. She has direct oversight of the scheduling of campus buildings and grounds for all internal and external non-academic and varsity athletic programs. The Assistant Director oversees all aspects of customer relations including triage of incoming and last minute requests. She also serves as a member of the departmental leadership team, assisting the Director with strategic planning, budget development and department’s vision.
Janice Bowen
Accountant II
The primary responsibility of the Accountant II is to manage the day to day financial operations for the University Events Office, monitor accounting procedures for compliance and ensure accuracy of financial data and reporting.
Assistant Director of Event Operations - Setup and Technical Services
He is the primary conduit for information and services regarding the Event Operations Setup and Technical Services areas of University Events. This member manages the setup equipment and technology needs for programs and events taking place on campus. The Assistant Director has the primary responsibility of communicating with Event Consultants to determine customer needs for events, and coordinating staffs to ensure those needs are met. This member manages the Event Operations Supervisor, Event Operations Setup and Technical Services, and all part-time undergraduate, graduate, and full-time seasonal office staffs who process customer requests, and coordinate setup needs for events across campus.
Assistant Director, Commencement and Special Events
The Assistant Director, Commencement and Special Events is responsible for planning and managing a multicultural and inclusive student experience including aspects of 51Թ’s undergraduate commencement ceremonies which includes student outreach, volunteer recruitment/management and guest relations. Working in cooperation with the President’s Office and the Director of University Event, the Assistant Director is also responsible for coordinating logistical event needs for campus-wide, large-scale University events.
Administrative Assistant II, Office Manager, Scheduling and Customer Relations
The Office Manager is responsible for day to day operations, including office management, ensuring effective office procedures, appropriate staff coverage, proper operation of office equipment and adherence to policies and procedures. She is also responsible for supporting the efforts of three distinct areas including scheduling, customer relations and event management software (EMS Core/EMS Web App).
Mark Johnson
Assistant Director, Production, Audio and Lighting Services
Responsible for the operation oversight, supervision, & maintenance of the Production, Audio & Lighting Services (PALS) area of University Events with oversight of Rondileau Student Union Auditorium & Horace Mann Auditorium. Assists the University Events staff, Theater & Dance Department faculty, Music department faculty, student organizations, and other college officials as required in the fulfillment of their activities and programs in these auditorium and stage facilities.

Assistant Director, Event Management
The Assistant Director, Event Management provides oversight and direction to the event consultant team within University Events as well as event planning assistance to campus program sponsors and external conference clients. The Assistant Director serves as a member of the department’s leadership team and is responsible for co‐sponsorship contracting with external clients.

The Event Consultant provides program planning to campus sponsors and external conference clients. She also ensures that necessary program services have been arranged and assists sponsors with program execution.
Lizzy Mullen
Administrative Assistant I, Room Reservationist
The Reservationist serves as the central contact for all University-sponsored events with the exception of academic classes, intramurals, intercollegiate games and practices. She provides prompt, customer-orientated services to schedule select space and facilities on campus as well as offers options of appropriate locations for various events/programs on campus. The Reservationist also supervises the Graduate Assistant and student reservations staff.

Event Coordinator, Commencement and Special Events
The Event Coordinator, Commencement and Special Events primary role is providing program planning and execution for institutional and major campus wide events such as Undergraduate Admissions programs and New Student and Family Programs. She supports the Assistant Director - Commencement and Special Events in the planning and execution of Undergraduate and Graduate Commencement as well as other University‐wide events. The Event Coordinator also provides program planning to campus sponsors and external conference clients. She ensures that necessary program services have been arranged and assists sponsors with program execution.
Event Operations Supervisor - Setup and Technical Service
The Event Operations Supervisor – Setup and Technical Services is the primary support system of student workers in the Event Operations Setup and Technical Services areas of University Events. This entails handling all oversight of the execution of both physical equipment and technology needs for events on campus. The person in this position has the primary responsibility of managing the part-time undergraduate, graduate, and full-time seasonal staff who execute facility and technical setup needs, as well as direct customer service support for events.

Production, Audio and Lighting Services Consultant
Jointly with the Auditorium Technical Director/Assistant Director, responsible for the fulfillment of the technical needs and supervision of all events and activities in the Rondileau Student Union Auditorium and stage facilities. Oversees day to day activities in the Rondileau Student Union Scene Shop, a fully equipped wood‐working facility. Assumes role of Auditorium Technical Director in the absence of the Assistant Director. Designs and plans the set‐up and operation of stage equipment for small and large scale events for the University Events staff, Theater Department faculty, Dance Department faculty, Music Department faculty, student organizations, general campus users as well as external clients.

The Graduate Assistant within the Institutional Events area of University Events assists with major institutional events including, Opening Day, Homecoming and Convocation. She is responsible for meeting with sponsors and service providers to assist in all planning aspects of high-profile, campus-wide and large-scale events. She works in close collaboration with the Office of the President to provide assistance and planning as well as onsite management of events. She is responsible for providing assistance with Commencement planning, communication, and logistics.

Graduate Assistant, Scheduling and Customer Relations
The Graduate Assistant, Scheduling and Customer Relations assists in developing, implementing and conducting the training program for, and the recruiting and hiring of, the student reservations staff. The Graduate Assistant retrieves and enters online reservation requests into the reservation system, and reviews requests entered by student staff, resolving conflicts in requests and appropriateness of space requested/held following BSU policies for space usage. She contacts sponsors to clarify requests and/or determine best the options for event space. She also assists with inquiries both by phone and in the office, schedules the student reservation assistant staff, and supervises Reservations filing and file maintenance.
